why does my washing machine say that the door is locked when it isn't?It comes on but don't start washing?
My frontloader Whirlpool washing machine says that the door is locked when it really isn’t. It comes on but it won’t start washing. Please help I have 4 kids that just started school and we have no money to go to the laundry mat to wash thier school clothes.

The door trips a switch that sends a signal to the timer to start washing. This switch is bad and needs replacing. Check to see if the switch is stuck. This is a button that comes in contact with the door. Maybe you can un-stick it so it resets the timer. If this doesn’t work call a repairman. I know how to by-pass the switch but I don’t want you getting electrocuted.
