What’s your take on the dance ministry in church?
What do you think of a dance ministry in church? You know, praise dancing, with the banners, tambourines, flags and colours? My church has it and I love it. Some ppl don’t see it as a necessity, while others, say it’s a great addition to the church.
What’s your take on this?
Also I’ve provide some links as to what the colours mean:

Not during the mass, I’m not catholic.
The bible has many references to this kind of dancing w/ these items.
Also, why is an athiest(the cavemen commenter) answering this question, when it’s something he clearly does not believe in.

our church hasnt done this yet, but thats probly because we are pa dutch country and we eat too much pot pie and cake to be able to dance, however I think our pastor is crazy ( in a good way) to try this sometime.we should give up all the food and dance.

If it helps people feel like they are adding another form of praise to their routine, great.
I attend Native American Pow wows and dance in those. It makes me feel a conncetion to my creator and my ancestors. It is very spirtual and special.
Dance is a great way to show your enuthuism for the Lord.

I think anything that can be used to glorify God, and bring people closer to him is a great idea.

While is clearly seems to be enjoyable to you, is it what God wants? Remember, it is only worship when it is what He has asked for, otherwise it is simply entertainment. God has made it clear that substituting entertainment for worship is an offense to Him
Malachi 1:6 "A son honors his father, And a servant his master. If then I am the Father, Where is My honor? And if I am a Master, Where is My reverence? Says the LORD of hosts To you priests who despise My name. Yet you say, ‘In what way have we despised Your name?’ 7 "You offer defiled food on My altar. But say, ‘In what way have we defiled You?’ By saying, ‘The table of the LORD is contemptible.’ 8 And when you offer the blind as a sacrifice, Is it not evil? And when you offer the lame and sick, Is it not evil? Offer it then to your governor! Would he be pleased with you? Would he accept you favorably?" Says the LORD of hosts.

this treads the fine line of what your life is about and what your church stands for.
too much of this can tip the scales from "lets sing and praise God and glorify his name" all the way over to "look what we can do and look how cool we look doing this!"
So, if you participate, you must be fervent in remembering your roll of praising and glorifying his name and not your own (or your church’s).

the form is not really important. its the substance that gets overlooked when churches try to have good form.
they are highly market conscious

I think it’s great, as long as the dancing is just for glorifying God, and not for girls showing off for the guys

I guess it takes a bit of getting use to. If they are doing it as unto the Lord, who am I to judge. I am still trying to understand the Step teams.

southern Baptist churches have been doing that for years back east. if you ever saw one or been to one the energy that comes from these people is awesome. love the lord no matter how you do it.

My church also has dance ministry. I think it’s great. When God’s anointed people dance for him it’s a blessing to watch!
