There is lots of $$$ in Dubai. Hence the reason Sea World (Anheiser Busch) is openig 4 theme parks there.

What do i think? i think everything’s going to move there.
Rumor is Cedar Point is going to be moved there by 2011, making Dubai the roller coaster Capital of the World.

It’s a good move for Six Flags. Since they’re not paying to build the park, and are probably getting paid to license the characters, themes, etc it will be a good way to help get them out of their multi billion dollar debt.
However, the park will be different than the American parks since they will not be allowed to use the Looney Tunes or DC Super heroes in the Dubai park. Should still be fun though.
PS – Cedar Point is not moving to Dubai.

If Six Flags has the same quality as they do in the US, then they are going to have major problems. I don’t think they are actually putting any money into this, so something tells me this is nothing but good for Six Flags. They have plenty of good ideas, just not the money to pull it off nor the quality. If its near the new Busch Parks, then they probably won’t do too hot, as Busch Parks seem to be way better. Overall I think its a good move for them

Six Flags won’t have anything to do with this park, other than design input and revenue on the licensing rights for use of the name "Six Flags" in the name "Six Flags Dubailand." Other than that, Six Flags as a corporation won’t have anything to do with this park. Employees won’t be on the Six Flags payroll and the profits are going to be split between them and Tatweer, who is the investment group behind getting this project rolling. Six Flags, Inc. is not paying for any of this out of their revenue.
For Dubai turning into the massive tourist destination it has, Six Flags is a popular name to have attached to a theme park. It’s nothing like Disney of course, but I’m sure it will do well just by that alone, hence the reason it’s not being marketed as just "Dubailand."

I imagine wintertime will probably be the peak season for any parks that are built there…..
