Texas Flag vs. Any Other State Flag?
In a card game a friend came out of no where and said Texas was a better state b/c they could fly their flag at the same height as the American Flag. I have read about it on numerous websites and I am finding 2 different answers on every website. Some are saying no its not true, that any state flag can be at the same height as long as its not to the right and others are saying that it can beat the same level because it was the only state to be its own country, (which I don’t believe is true) Can someone help me settle this??

I could care less, they are just flags or colored cloth…WOW!
it depends on how fanatic you are about flags and what not.

Texas was apart of Mexico. Then Texas got mad at Mexico. Then they fought Texas won so they became country after. That Texas became the 28th state so as you can see Texas was a state.

Texas was the only nation *recognized* by the United States government. The US flag codes say that all national flags are to be flown at one level and state flags must be flown below the national flags. Because Texas was once its own country, it gets national status. However, Texas state flag codes require that the US flag be flown higher or to the right of the Texas flag if on two same-length masts. Whether that makes Texas a "better" state is really a matter of opinion.
The best proof that you may have is from the US Flag Code which is the official rules governing our flag. Look in particular at Section 7D.
