When you study with the Jehovah’s Witness, you agree to attend five meetings a week where you are taught from Watchtower literature. You cannot be baptized until you have studied their material for at least six months and have answered numerous questions before a panel of elders. Men are not supposed have long hair or wear beards and women are to dress in modest apparel. They refuse to vote, salute the flag, sing the "Star Spangled Banner, celebrate birthdays or Christmas, won’t take blood transfusions, and they can’t join the armed forces. A schedule of door-to-door canvassing is required where you distribute the Watchtower literature, acquire donations, and forward all monies to the headquarters in Brooklyn, New York.
If you ever leave the Jehovah’s Witness organization, you are considered an apostate and are to be shunned.
does anyone notice that the Jw are trying to say that all religons are cults and in effect there is no such thing as organised religon? The Jw are the only ones who can’t accept they are a cult.

Hi all. So I’ve posed a little challenge to myself: I’m trying to identify a children’s program that I used to watch when I was a kid (I’m 31 now). Here’s what little I remember:

-I think it was on PBS
-It always ended with with some character watching TV, then the TV station (within the show) would sign off with The Star Spangled Banner and footage of a flag waving, then go to static
-The show once featured a vignette where a kid was in his room at night with the lights turned off, watching as headlights from cars passing outside made shadows across the walls, and all of a sudden a glowing red skeleton comes at him out out of a corner

Is this ringing any bells at all? I really appreciate any help you can give me.

ok so for my art class in school i need to draw the britain flag, it has something to do wit the star spangled banner

So I had a dream last night; for some reason it was about the star spangled banner (not the song the flag) (I was pretty much thinking about this social studies thing I’ve been doing) any ways one minute it went from waving a flag on a balcony (again don’t ask) to being a spy for the colonists I don’t know how but it did any ways that’s not the point, so I swam deep into water after being freed from jail (which took less then a second again don’t ask how I got there its just random), I went so deep in real life it would feel like your lungs were on fire and I just needed air, that’s when I woke up breathing heavily my heart beating fast it hurt for 20 seconds then it went away… what is the cause of this? and this has happened before (not the breathing and heart beating part) I would have a dream and wake up with some sort of pain sometimes sometimes I would wake up and find cuts on myself but I don’t see how that’s physically possible unless some one or something did it to me in my sleep. like I asked before what could be the cause of my breathing heavily and heart beating too fast?

WATERS – Peoples, multitudes, nations and tongues (languages) (Apocalypse/Revelation 17 v 15).
HORN – kingdom
UNICORN – Unique horn – "One Kingdom, world without end" – God’s Kingdom on Earth – soon.
OLIVE – The "House of Israel" – (people not country)
FIG tree – Jews (Matt. 21 v 20), Christ cursing Judaism for ever in verse 19.
DAY – Year in prophecy (Ezekiel 4 v 6) (Revelation 9 v 5).
MONTH – 30 years in prophecy (Rev. 11 v 2,3 – 42 x 30 = 1260).
SEVEN – The number of completeness in Scripture.

This is not meant to start some kind of big war of the words on yanswers. I just want to know if any other americans feel this way. What has happened to our country? Remember right after 9/11, the flags were flying, americans of all races and religions were standing hand in hand in support of this county and our president. The star spangled banner brought a tear of pride to your eye. I love my country. I stand behind it no matter what. What happened to that? I mean if you hate american so much, then leave ya know? All anybody does anymore is bash the president and the government and the economy, its just ridiculous. I get offeneded when people say bad things about my home that I love. And no, I dont agree with the president or the government or any of it all the time, but its still MY country, and I SUPPORT IT!!! what happened to patriotism??
yeah to those who didnt see that part about "not trying to start a war of words" take a pill and chill out. To those who agree and even disagree with out being a name calling asshole. thanks, all opinions are appreciated, regardless if i agree with you or not.

Around July 24, 2010, the Houston Astros were playing a team and a man was on the field singing. When I turned on the sound, the song was not "The Star-Spangled Banner" by Francis Scott Key, but I think it was "God Bless America" which is a good song, but not the correct one.
