Obama and the Democrats waged a modern whirlwind campaign in 2008 unlike anything ever seen in America. Obama traveled the country delivering dozens of major speeches, attending meetings, shaking hands, signing autographs, posing for pictures, and even kissing babies.

The Democratic Party brilliantly organized thousands of meetings, torchlight parades, plastered posters everywhere and printed millions of copies of special editions of American newspapers.

America was in the grip of the Economic Meltdown with a population suffering from poverty, misery, and uncertainty, amid increasing political instability.

For Obama, the master speech maker, the long awaited opportunity to let loose his talents on the American people had arrived. He would find in this downtrodden people, an audience very willing to listen. In his speeches, Obama offered the American what they needed most, encouragement. He gave them heaps of vague promises while avoiding the details. He used simple catchphrases, repeated over and over.

His campaign appearances were carefully staged events. Audiences were always kept waiting, deliberately letting the tension increase, only to be broken by solemn processions of Brownshirts with golden banners, blaring military music, and finally the appearance of Obama amid shouts of "OBAMA!!" The effect in a closed in hall with theatrical style lighting and decorations of flags was overwhelming and very catching.

Obama began each speech in low, hesitating tones, gradually raising the pitch and volume of his voice then exploding in a climax of frenzied indignation. He combined this with carefully rehearsed hand gestures for maximum effect. He skillfully played on the emotions of the audience bringing the level of excitement higher and higher until the people wound up a wide-eyed, screaming, frenzied mass that surrendered to his will and looked upon him with pseudo-religious adoration.

Obama offered something to everyone; work to the unemployed, prosperity to failed business people, profits to industry, expansion to the Army, social harmony and an end of class distinctions to idealistic young students, and restoration of American glory to those in despair. He promised to bring order amid chaos, a feeling of unity to all and the chance to belong. He would make America strong again, end payment of war reparations to the Allies, tear up the treaty of Versailles, stamp out corruption, keep down Marxism, and deal harshly with the Rich.

He appealed to all classes of Americans.

All of the Democrats, from Obama, down to the leader of the smallest city block, worked tirelessly, relentlessly, to pound their message into the minds of the Americans

Nor did we send you to extend olive branches to those who have a long track record of enriching their greedy insatiable friends and associates at the expense of “we” the American people. We did not send you to help the Banks, Wall Street, Big Oil, Apartheid countries spinning delusions of democracy or The Military Industrial Complex rip us off. We never sent you to take the road of endless political compromise, plant closings, foreclosure, war, welfare for despotic foreign rulers, and perpetuation of drone death from the sky. You weren’t sent to continue the legacy of extraordinary rendition, Gitmo, black prisons, water boarding, arms dealing, and flag draped coffins returning home. We sent you there to take “our country” back, make sure we can reasonably feed clothe shelter and educate our children and ourselves. We sent you there because we need to be able to go to the hospital when we are sick or hurt and not be afraid we will be denied coverage, be financially devastated, embarrassed or turned out on to the street! We sent you there because we don’t want the government to give us anything “we just want the government to open up the door and we’ll get it ourselves.” Right now Mr. Obama not only is the door closed but it’s locked! All we wanted is to be safe and secure in our own country and not have our money taken away to do things that make us not only less safe but more fearful, economically destitute, morally damaged, and afraid to fly.

You made us promises and took covenant with us to do as we asked, feel our pain, restore our good name, and wrestle the reins of power from the bloated backroom self consumed power brokers of Washington. You represented (and still do) all our hopes and dreams to overcome the crippling schemes of powerful men dealing behind the scenes to abridge our rights by any means. Sure, it has only been 2 years but it is time to unwaveringly institute that “CHANGE” you spoke about. We are doing our best to hold onto the small businesses we have, the jobs we have, the homes we have, the benefits we have, and even the little self esteem have left and fought so hard for. We picked you for the job because we don’t care about your hue only what you have the God given potential to do. To tell you the truth “we” hired you because we heard you in rhetoric raise the bar and right now we need a leader with the fighting strength of Truman, vision and tenacity of FDR. You are there because we need something from you, we need you to clean house and get our sovereignty, our money and our power back and our patience is waning. Don’t be drawn into the continual conferences of delay by those that use negotiation as a strategy to permanently keep our “we the people” at bay. You were sent there because when you spoke you aroused our hope and made us believe together we could purge the American political air of the sickening stale stench of backroom cigar smoke.

You promised to end the war in Iraq so remove all the troops including the last 50,000 do it keep your promise. You promised to give us the health care we all need, go back and finish it “come hell or high water” like FDR did, if the big business barons hate you that is the price of our love. You promised to get us working; seriously you must work on that! You promised us more things than I have time or space to write about but you still have time to keep many of those promises, so let’s get going before you and the time are gone. Mr. President it is time for you to finally “dare to be great”, you have all the tools we just all wish you would use them and un-apologetically make that “CHANGE” you talked about, good medicine is always bitter! Last of all you promised to go through the budget item by item line by line well that time has arrived and I am going to help you.

I understand we need money to do all these things and finance all the changes and of course money is tight right now or at least so we are led to believe. However money can solve a lot of problems for us simply by moving it to where it belongs and away from where it does not. Everyday millions of dollars leave our shores and go to countries that abuse us spy on us thumb their noses at us so here are some solutions and let’s start with a hard one. Let’s use the Americans people’s money to achieve “peace in the middle east”, we are giving lots and lots of money to just about all the parties involved, so it stands to reason they have an incentive to keep the conflicts going because they are getting paid. If we remove our money from the equation things will definitely get a lot quieter. Consider the following:

1. Israel receives about say 10 million of our hard earned tax dollars every day, they don’t listen to anyone they do as they want. That is about 3.6 billion a year, Israel has a heath care system far superior to ours and subsidized housing as well if we kept that money here at home where it belongs, it would go a long way towards solving our health care problems not to mention it could keep a lot our people here in their homes.

2. Egypt receives roughly about 2 Billion per year and a large part of that goes to arms and the balance into accounts of the their politicians to be used for we don’t know what. However here in America we have thousands of people living in shelters or on the street depending on charity for their next meal.

3. Jordan receives millions every year in tax dollars every year without any accountability to speak of.

4. The list goes on and on and all we know is the Palestinian Authority only seems to have the authority to spend our money.

Cut the funds off to the Middle East and stop giving them weapons for free while we foot the bill. Believe me the conflict will stop because they won’t be able to afford it and then maybe they can feel the anguish of being moved from “welfare to work” or as is our reality now from work to the “unemployment line.”

This money keeps going out and going out creating a massive vortex in the collective American tax payer’s bathtub with no end in sight. Yet we are told there are massive budget problems, well I guess so because we are not getting the benefit of the funds we endlessly pay in. Everyone near and far from massive corporations to foreign dictators are lined up at the trough to get an unfair share of the monies we the American people labor so hard for. Stop letting Washington give away what we don’t have to give and feeding us the lies of “Big Government” spending out of control here inside the U.S., while in fact we are funding war, terrorism, and incredible waste all across the globe. We hired you because we are mad as hell and aren’t going to take it anymore. Please do the job we sent you there for, take firm resolve and do not retreat so I hope you got the message and you know why “we” threw so many incumbents out of office this time in 2010 just like we did in 2008. Both parties honestly sicken us and we truly identify with neither. We just want our country back and if you don’t do it we will keep “CHANGING” until we find someone who will lead us out of this stinking fetid morass…

How long will it be before every American flag is replaced?

ABSTRACT:

All over the world, true democracies are measured on not only how often they hold elections, but also how free and fair are the elections, how inclusive the elections are but also how competitive they are.  In both the presidential (United States) and parliamentary (United Kingdom) forms of governments, elections are a true measure of the strength of the democracy. There are different types of elections. They include general elections, by-elections, primary elections etc.

Elections are decision-making processes where the general citizens (those who are legally eligible to vote) choose the people who are to govern them for a certain period maybe four to five years. By conducting elections and choosing the government then what the people say is that the power given to the government belongs to the people.

ANALYSIS:

The United States elections of the year 2008 that are scheduled to take place on the fourth day of November 2008 will include presidential elections together with their vice presidents. At the same time new senators will be voted in, there will also be a couple of state and local elections without forgetting the election of new members of the House of Representatives. The elections will mark the 55th time that the country has held quadrennial elections in its history.

The 2008 general elections will be a very special election. This is because there is something that will be happening that more than half of all United States of America citizens have not seen in their lifetime. This is because the elections will mark the first time since 1928 that the country will be going into the ballot box without having an incumbent president or vice president carrying the ruling party’s flag to the elections.

This is because neither president bush (whose second term will be expiring-constitutionally he cannot vie) nor the vice president dick Cheney (has categorically refused to run) will be spearheading the campaigns.

Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama are the key leading candidates in the democratic front. Despite the fact that they have a similar overall cause, they have some key differences on some of the ways that they will address some key issues. These issues range from the housing sector, the energy sector, foreign affairs as well as healthcare.

In terms of foreign affairs especially concerning the war in Iraq and the fight against international terrorism, Obama has made his points clear unlike Clinton who looks a little bit indecisive. On this issue Obama, has made it clear that he would not fail to take action in Pakistan if there was “credible actionable intelligence”. In addition, Obama has criticized the bush Cheney model and has urged his rivals to come up with their views on the issue publicly and not conserve their views as if it is a concern for the white house.

In addition, Obama has stated that in order to guarantee peace then the American nation needs to move from a pinnacle of fear, instead move ahead with the great legacies of America’s forbearers, and practice their rights with hope, strength and optimism. As a result the famous line “let us never negotiate out of fear….but let us never fear to negotiate” has become a crucial campaign advert for the Obama camp.

On the other side, Hilary Clinton has been seen to avoid answering the question directly. However, she seems to support the bush style when she is quoted as saying that “the surge is working” in Iraq. However, she has said that she does not want to talk about the issue openly for the fear of propaganda. This statement has caused her to be criticized on many fronts since there is no time that the United States has taken the back seat on a contentious issue like this.

Another area where the two front-runners have conflicting ideas is in the field of health care and insurance. On this field, each of the two candidates has their own ways of going about it. Hilary Clinton hopes to make sure that all Americans are covered. This will be done in two different ways. Firstly, there will those who will be covered officially through the government or private sector schemes. Secondly, she intends the rest of the people to be covered through some kind of “individual mandate”, however, she has not directly indicated how this individual mandate will be achieved but she has suggested that she would seek the congress to implement some enforcement mechanism.

On the other side of the table, barrack Obama is of the view of introducing medical insurance cover for all Americans. This view has been criticized by his rivals who claim that this is practically impossible. In his defense for his pledge, Obama has reiterated that what he envisaged was free insurance cover for all children. Thus as this process goes on he has claimed that at the end it will be equivalent to free medical insurance for all Americans.

CONCLUSION:

Compared to other general elections the 2008 presidential elections seem to be the one that will be contested. This is firstly because no incumbent will be running. Historically incumbents have a relatively higher chance of being elected. Secondly, the 2008 elections has become some kind of an online election. In search of votes, many candidates have turned to the internet. As a result, history is in its making as republican candidate Ron Pol sends records tumbling as he made history by raising .2 million in a single day on November 5 2007.

In addition to this there is a new debate springing up within the political divide. With support for African-American candidate, barrack Obama increasing, new questions of whether the time is ready for America to have a black president have become commonplace.

Because of all this, campaign issues have gone further this time round to encompass issues that are centuries old like the issue of slavery and slave trade. In addition to this, issues of religion have sprung up especially after it had been falsely rumored that the democratic, African-American candidate barrack Obama was indeed a Muslim and that he had attended the Madrasa some place in Philippines or Indonesia.

The idea is masonic; where men of different religions and race unite. The men are symbolised as sons of ‘tomorrow’ with a blazing sun rising over the mountains of the east (where the sun rises).

What bothers me is the structure of either logos (if you’re fimiliar with the New World Order and the all-seeing eye). Obama and DA logo upside down is just that (an eye).

The colours of the logo supposedly is the colours of the south african flag, but might I add – where is the black? Black on the south african flag represents the black population. Thats is why the ANCYL logo has two triangles which directly emulate the black triangle on the national flag. Or maybe it is the shadow in the background of the emblem that counts for black.

I wonder if it it just a coincidence that the DA won Cape Town where alot of the working class are coloured.

Obama says: The American flag is a symbol of oppression. He goes on to say that he would change our flag if elected. Not only that-he says our national anthem is violent and he would change that too.
The Star Spangled Banner describes how early Americans freed themselves from oppression.

How can any American EVEN think of voting him into office?????
