Assassin’s Creed 2 – Unlockables/Rewards – What exactly can you unlock?

My question might seem a bit vague, but I’m not quite sure how to phrase it. I thought I did the best I could though.

Anyway, I’m trying to figure out what you can unlock in Assassin’s Creed 2.

I’ve been looking online, but there hasn’t been much information out there yet. There are tons of things to do in AC2, and I’m just trying to see what unlocks what. For example, what does collecting all the feathers unlock? What about completing all of the Assassination side-missions? What about collecting all the flags?

There are a ton of activities besides those that I want to look in to, but any help would be appreciated because as you know it’s pretty time consuming collecting things and completing all of the side-missions and races and I’d like to know if I get anything in exchange for all of my hard work.

Looking forward to the answers I get. Detail is appreciated, people.
For the record, I’m not talking about unlocking "achievements" or "trophies." I’m talking about items you can unlock in the actual game, and I thought anyone reading this question would understand that. Nap, I’m calling you out, take your bull**** answer off this page; it takes me six minutes just to get to the bottom.

What should people from the US call themselves?

At one time the term "Usonian" was proposed for US citizens to call themselves, since there isn’t an appropriate word for that purpose right now.

I think it’s time we came up with a term that doesn’t ruffle the feathers of people from the other countries in the American continent.

Just imagine if the French hijacked the term "European" for themselves and if they opposed any other European countries from describing themselves as European also!

I personally prefer to use "US-American"…

In Esperanto we use "Usonano" since United States is "Usono".

Yesterday I saw a van that had a sticker that said "God Bless America" and in the center it showed the entire American continent, instead of the usual US flag.

Hum, what a gentle reminder!
I like Taivo’s answer. He makes a good point and his answer is well-written and well- researched, however, in the name of international relations, I still think it’s worth giving this issue some consideration.
Many changes have taken place in the American continent in the last 500 years.

What we “know” of the moon, true or false?

There has been a lot of talk about „the Moon.“
Some people think the famed footage of the alleged first moon landing is a fake.

They say that the moon has virtually no gravity and no atmosphere but then if that´s true, what they hell held the flag in place and why didn´t the material of the flag crystallize instantly?

If there is water on the moon in the form of ice, what the hell is holding it in place if there´s almost no gravity? Objects that weigh a ton would float around like feathers if they were subject to the slightest gust of gaseous wind,or?

Is anyone else embarrassed by gay pride parades?

I’m a bisexual male, currently with a boyfriend and all this gay pride stuff embarrasses me to no end. How am I supposed to convince heterosexuals that I am in a deep loving and serious relationship when my fellow LGBT members are marching down the street with a rainbow flag while wearing either leather bondage clothes or feathers? They are also reinforcing stereotypes. I want to distance myself from these people as far as humanly possible and spend my time with straight people who happen to be pro-gay.

It’s also very hypocritical. When you see the words "gay pride" you think equality and acceptance. What if you saw "straight pride parade"? Everyone would be up in arms calling them homophobes and bigots just for being proud of who they are.
