No doubt a good driver but, why can’t she take the checkered flag?
Ok they like replayed the last lap to see if Kyle like really took the checkered flag and there was this HOT blonde waving the checkered flag and shacking her butt waving it when they replayed it and a curly haired brown haired girl waving a green flag next to her. They were both hot and my and my girlfriend replayed it like 5 times.
did y’all notice this???
I’m sorry, my fellow geniuses; something does not compute.
I posted a question about a simple explanation of why time "slows up" (supposedly) and all I got were "sound bites" from the different books published purporting to explain the phenomenon.
I can quote verbatim also….that’s not what I was looking for.
(It reminds me of the pre-supersonic flights when there were dire forecasts of absolutely horrible things which would happen to an aircraft passing the sound barrier. Of course all the naysayers turned out to be full of baloney.)
My scenario included a "stationary observer"…..for time comparison purposes. So, one genius writes in that there is no such thing as a stationary platform……duh.
Let me try again:
Using the familiar "spaceship with a big window" that the stationary observer may look in to, we are to understand (while the stationary observer’s clock is marking real time) that those aboard the spaceship are "moving very slowly"..hardly at all……and a 2 year voyage (by the observer’s timepiece) shows just a few minutes on the spaceship’s timepiece.
And THAT is supposed to explain it all?
1. Aside from the light ray anomalies and vision difficulties at the speed of light, why are the spacemen moving slowly? (they APPEAR to be moving slowly)
2. Why is the timepiece onboard the spaceship moving so slowly?
3. Again, the observer is there as a REAL TIME reference…he is the timekeeper at the Indy 500, let’s say…..I’m sure the drivers have their own concept of time, but that doesn’t count much for the checkered flag.
So, anybody out there (aside from the parrots quoting paragraphs from Einstein’s book) care to take
another crack at it?

Is this what you tell your high school algebra class?
A couple years ago I had to watch as Jr’s incompetent and ignorant cousin screwed up his race and allowed Kyle Busch to take the checkered flag at the Glen.
Because of this the "greatest driver" of all time had to go another win-less season on the road courses.
Well, now that Jimmie Johnson has won at Infenion (not that he is in the same league as Jr), Is Dale Earnhardt Jr, now considered the greatest driver of all time to have never won on a road course?
Is there a driver that you just can not stand to see win? That as they are about to take the Checkered Flag, you have to either change the channel until after the burnout and celebration in Victory Lane, or mute the TV and look away? Then You can turn it back on to listen to the other interviews.
Also how do you feel about:
1. Double file restarts?
2. Three chances at a green white checkered finish?
3. Phantom debris cautions on some races, and wrecked cars on the final laps at other races and no caution?
4. Do you feel like Nascar’s rules can not be depended on being upheld, as compared to other Sports?
You may have answered many of these questions before, but being fairly new in this category I appreciate your input.
p.s. My name is in honor of our sweet and loving Cocker Spaniel. She blessed us for 15 years 5 months and 4 days. She was a sweetheart and a blessing…….thanks….
Thank You very much for your kind words about Muffin Ann. She was a rescue animal from the pound. A Christmas present for our youngest Son. She loved all of us, but She lived for my Husband. Golden with a sprinkling of red, and white markings. She had a beautiful smile, and when you were hurt or sick, she would not leave your side. Thank You sooo much.
****I turn the channel or mute the sound if JJ, or KB win. However last night watching the Nationwide race, I was cheering for Kyle to win over Edwards. Really glad Kyle won. Never thought I would ever say that.
Do not care to see certain drivers take the checkered flag, do a burnout, or yell over and over how great they are.
I do watch the post race interviews. Love racing, grew up in a racing family. It is great to see so many here that are loyal fans.
Not a fan of double file restarts. I understand the need for lapped cars not to start on the inside, so put them in the back and do the single file restarts. To me it would be like a runner taking off and having a huge lead, then another runner behind them stumbles and falls. So they make everyone stop, line up again and start the race over. What was the point in working so hard to get up front?
I would be guilty of not wanting a race to end under caution. But three attempts is ridiculous. How many drivers were about to win, a caution is thrown, they line up again, restart, pull ahead, another caution is thrown, do it all over again, they pull ahead again, and when the third time happens they fall behind. We need a statatision just to keep up with how many drivers would have been winners if not for all the 3xGWF’s. Like Nascar can chose who they want to win. It is like a crooked Ref, or Ump calling a game, and their bad calls changing the outcome.
Phantom debris cautions, it would be easier to believe there was actually something on the track if the cautions did not occur, as if to tighten up the field. Or in other instances when a driver Nascar seems to favor is running second or third.
Nascar’s rules…..well I love what so many said. So good to see that others see their manipulation. Why can’t we see a rule book? They do seem to have the rules penciled in.
THANK YOU more than words can say for being so sweet and kind about our Cocker Spaniel Muffin Ann. Happy to see so many animal lovers. And very sorry for your losses too. Nice to see loving posts.
Bless You All. Thanks Again…..
Enjoy the race today…..Indy
I just started watching soccer because of the World Cup and I am a bit confused about some of the rules of the game.
So here are my questions: When is the checkered flag used? Why is the whistle blown sometimes when a player crosses the opposing side while it’s somewhat empty? If a player scores a goal for the opposing team, does the point count for the opposing team? How long does the yellow/red cards last: one game or the entire World Cup? How long are the games generally? Do games end earlier when it’s a tie?
Thanks. Sorry if my questions are confusing/dumb; the USA isn’t very big on soccer. I can’t find anyone around me who knows enough about the sport to give me thorough answers.
I am in the process of installing a suspended ceiling in my recroom. And the room will be set up with all nascar things. As far as the ceiling goes i have taken 4 of the 2×4 ceiling tiles and painted them white and then i am going to paint black squares on these tiles to make it look like a checkered flag. The tiles will then be installed above my bar. Question i have is that i want to install black lights above the bar by these 4 tiles. I have already set the black light by the tile and the tile will not stand out like the color white should with a black light. Does anyone know of a white paint i could use that would stand out to the black light?
How about that ending?
Now THAT was a great ending to a race. Jimmie lost it,(darn it) but that’s the kind of ending I like in a race! No green, white checkered flag, no caution ending the race, just good ole’ fashioned racing!
Congrats. to the Kyle Busch fans. His gracious and non-bragging speech with all that excitement in his voice during victory lane will gain him more fans.
Should have said in victory lane, not during victory lane….dugh.
Winter Glory…yeah, tell me about it. I was standing six inches in front of my television on the restart. I don’t even remember how I got there from my chair.
Papabill…yeah, how could I have forgotten his car stuck in the mud! That was pretty classic in itself. You just don’t see that every race.
Can you see this poem being in an Impala commercial with Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson saying every other line?
My Chevy makes a sound
My Chevy goes ’round and ’round
I hear it thunder on the track
I feel the seat against my back
I see the checkered flag rise and I stare
I smell the sweet smell of victory in the air!
Chevy an American revolution
I made it up myself! Just wanted to see what you thought!
I did come up with this poem in fifth grade for my poetry book so yeah it might sound a little elementary. But what a good way to get kids themselves interested in the sport and better yet into Chevy.
