The American flag will always fly the highest. State flags go below it, except for Texas. Texas flag flys on level with American.

We are all Americans first. I would rather see my state in flames and dead, than all the rest of the USA in flames. I am an American first, a Virginian second.

American flag always flies high…always.

In Texas most of us fly the state flag at the same level as the US flag.

The Constitution limits the federal government to very few areas, but in those areas it is supreme. Flying the US flag first was a courtesy.

However, these days, I could understand the impulse. The federal government has so encroached on state rights.

If we would follow the Constitution Yes it should. Each state would be Sovereign and have its own laws but that idea is dead.
