Need wedding advice…take a look here for ideas…?
Email me and I can send a lengthy WORD document with tons of wedding ideas, websites, information I have gathered as the result of helping a family member plan her wedding.
One thing I realized was how few people take advantage of ideas that are not typically associated with weddings.
Those of you whom have seen such things, please list them below for others to think about.
Here are some unusual things to consider:
feathers (pheasant or peacock)
twisted twigs
drift wood
pea pods
acorns
rocks with words imprinted on them
starfish or shells as a boutounierre
ornamental grasses
bird baths
bird houses
colored light bulbs
oil lamps
books
scrabble letters
fence sections (white picket)
stain glass windows, mirror, sun catchers
wind chimes
curtain tassels
copper pots
sounds of nature(music)
frisbee
hammocks
old shoes and boots to tie on the back of the get-away-vehicle
sparklers
American Flag
Hey dudley do….NOT!
How about freely sharing information just because I want to be nice!
Oh that’s right, that concept went out years ago. Sorry!
I am very real…are you always so synical?

I’m having a citrus theme wedding: yellow and green. I have just a few ideas of what I’m using as centerpieces, lemons and limes, green and yellow flowers with a hint of pink. I’m not sure of what else to use though.

My fiance loves to fly fish. We got fishing creel baskets off of ebay for the centerpieces and we are going to fill them with sunflowers. I also found some really cheap candy molds shaped like trout. There are some interesting shapes for candy molds and cookie cutters here:

This forum is for questions.

This is a questions forum – though this would be the perfect answer to a themes question. I am actually using ostrich feathers for 2 of my weddings next year and I’m very excited about it … I do agree, though, about using not so obvious items for weddings.

You sound like an out of work wedding planner who wants to collect ideas of the general public.

are you for real ?

Hmmm! Are we getting a wedding reception confused with a thematic party? Take advantage of things not associated with a wedding reception? Huh? I probably shouldn’t even bother but I’m seeing so much superficiality lately, that I can’t resist.
Yes, I see and do some crossover things as decorations, all of our pieces are handmade for wedding receptions and thematic parties, but there reaches a point beyond which we refuse to go–no matter the $$ because being different just for differentness sake doesn’t make an event or reception wonderful–and some people lose sight of that in their desire to be "unique".
Not everyone can have a Platinum Wedding with all of its excesses, but the price tag on understated elegance is still reasonable.
So, beyond that, I don’t have a comment or addition to your laundry list of unrelated juvenile items.
