I have been trying to buy a Motorcyle online and I am running into a lot of scams, it is really scary does?
anyone know of websites besides Craigslist and Ebay that are legit?
I found OODLE.COM and it seemed to be okay but on 4 really good deals that I found the people claimed to be going through ebay motors and every email once we started the transaction were completely different they all copied the logo from ebay but the lay out of the emails were all different and they would ask for the receipt of a money gram before they would do anything else (according to ebay you should never send a money gram or western union money to anyone)
So I saw the red flags but I REALLY want a motorcyle and it sucks to find these good deals and then not be able to get the bike because some dumbass somewhere is scamming people. Please help me find a website so I can find my dream bike, If you have personally bought a bike from one that you mention can you tell me the details of how the transaction went down?
Thank you everyone for your answers.

EBAY has some safeguards against rip off, craigslist does not. I never buy anything I can’t ride.

A bit of info for you. E-bay does not do escrow sales for vehicles like all the scams say.
Why not look in your local paper or the cycletrader magazines available at 7-11 stores.
Check dealers also.
I would NEVER buy a bike that I could not test ride prior to forking out cash.

Cycletrader.com is a good site for bikes. I bought one off there. I also bought 2 off Ebay, most on there use Paypal which also has guarantees so you won’t get taken. The bikes I bought off people on Ebay were fine, I bought them unseen other than the pictures, one I flew up to the guy’s location and he picked me up at the airport, everything went smooth and I rode the bike back over 400 miles. The other Ebay cycle I bought I had a shipping company go pick it up from the guy and haul it out, that was also a very smooth transaction.
I have also sold cars on Ebay myself. It can be done and can be a good transaction, just trust your instincts, like it seems you do that well anyway, ask a lot of questions, get personal information from the seller, get a lot of recent pics of the bike, you’ll know when the person is honest. Good luck.

Those "Good Deals" do NOT exist. They are there *only* to scam people. THINK!! Why would anyone sell something at a cost that someone else could buy and resell at a considerable profit? It ain’t happening.
