I am terrified for people to get upset with me…?
what can I do? I am Mr. nice guy so most of the time I am a door mat. But when I stand up for myself even just a little, people get upset with me. I mean, this has been all my life everywhere I’ve lived. I have seen so many different therapist, but currently I am not seeing anyone decided not to waste any more money I do not have. I have been unable to work because of anxiety (social) also.

Don’t concern yourself, there are many of you out there, so the people you upset are not the same people that you don’t upset, now you know who to talk with and enjoy there company and who not to talk with and annoy.

There is medication for anxiety issues, you know. Get a referral from your doctor.

Maybe you should just accept you’re a doormat. Be yourself.

I feel ya man, I am a fellow anxiety sufferer. First I think you need to ask yourself why you find other people so important, does it REALLY matter if they don’t like you? There are six billion other people living on this planet! Put it in perspective for yourself, also realize that there are times when you should be assertive, and times when you can get by without it. Be positive, you deserve to be happy and to not be a doormat. Examine why you feel this way and why you have these thoughts, chances are, they don’t make much sense. Challenge these thoughts, everything won’t be better in a day, just work at it a little at a time. I know this probably doesn’t help much because a lot of anxiety is caused by completely illogical thought processes. If it is debilitating I’d really recommend seeing a therapist for a referral to a psychiatrist to get some medication, it might help. Good luck, and God love you.
