How many Christians get on here to recruit others to Christianity?
I am a Christian. I don’t believe, however , that we are put on this planet to grovel, beg and plead with others to join our religion. There are those who have noble intentions, those who are just pushy, and those who believe that it’s our job to recruit people. I believe that it’s our job to be examples, not door mats. I believe that it’s GODS job, not ours, to use us as he sees fit, as instruments of his will, and to draw people to him. I hate that there are so many who think we are supposed to be complacent and meek. Yes, it says that the meek shall inherit the earth. But I am meek before GOD, NOT MAN. There’s people on this site getting turned off by some of the religious answers. I don’t think that’s the idea behind what we’re supposed to be doing, do you?
Denis E- I agree. I’m certainly NOT saying to avoid the subject at all. I HAVE to bring it up when I feel it’s appropriate, because that IS our job.
Hense my question, Student.

I don’t recruit … I prefer just to share my opinions and if someone is interested they will respond, or at least reflect on what I said.

I am an atheist. I am here to answer questions as best as I know how.
I don’t appreciate certain christians/atheists who use this forum to preach their beleifs/disbeliefs, or to convert/deconvert others. Atheists rarely do this, and christians do this more often.
I don’t think anyone should be a doormat, yet I also don’t think this should be a forum to preach.

have you read the gospels? the disciples went from place to place, doing wonders and miracles. but if people did not want to hear they were told to dust themselves off and move on.

Jesus told us, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:19-20)
Now, what you call recruiting, I call testifying to God’s truth. I am to make disciples. Whether people choose to listen, is up to them. When they arrive at the Judgment Seat, they will not be able to tell God that they never knew.
I merely testify to the truth. I also correct error. Where there is honest difference of opinion, I agree with Augustine, who said, "In essentials, unity; in doubtful matters, liberty; in all things, charity."

I answer questions to inform people; sometimes people ask questions that I know the answer to, and sometimes I enjoy researching it for them. When I provide my answer, I try to impart all of the wisdom I currently possess (as long as it pertains to the question). I also attempt to set a Christ-like example by my tone and by what I actually write.

Christians dont "grovel, beg and plead" they threaten.
IE "If you do not accept jesus you are going to hell for all eternity"
Most come on here to try to "convert" others to their religion whether christian or atheist or whatever. They are trying to disprove what everyone else believes and get them to join their beliefs or religion. the infamous "my religion is the only true religion"

I like your view on things.
you must remember that Jesus said"go out and make disciples of all the nations"
be care-full….God loves all…he might just look for results from you at the end of all…
pride was the cause of all we know ans see today….rather be a doormat for 80years than a deserted corps frying in hell..
yea…..i do try to reach and convert people to Christ on internet.. It is the least i can do for Jesus with the remainder of my spare time(before bed)…Some people will read this and muse….some will spit at my words……but these words will count against them if they do not except Jesus in their lives………Come on…live for Jesus…after all, he gave his live 4 you, to enable to share eternity with us all…

Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
here are a few examples:
"Hey, Morris, time for din-din!" (a most reluctant feast)…
… And check out Wimpy on the Pop-eye cartoons again…
…"It’s BEGGINNNNNN!!!"… (Beggin’ strips)
Mar 7:28 But she answered and saith unto him, Yea, Lord; even the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs.
does our TV do a better job than we?

I try to be an example – by being tolerant and open minded. I will answer a spiritual question if someone wants a spiritual answer. I will let my belief system be known if I disagree w/ someone. I hate the word "recruit’ it sounds like someone in a network marketing company trying to get sponsors – I don’t recruit. Jesus said that "they will know that we are Christians by our Love" We need to spread the love wherever we go. ACTIONS speak louder than words. But I agree with you. No need to be door mats. I try to hold my tongue when I get a really abraisive/abusive answer to a serious question. I believe we need to start fighting fire w/ fire but in a civilized way w/ words but not a bunch of "copied & pasted" scripture. Besides, the atheists won’t listen to scripture at all since they don’t believe the bible is truth. So, what’s the use with that action plan?
