In the US people honor the flag in different ways. In the instance you refer to he was singing. Hand on heart is standard for the pledge but not the national anthem. Look it up. What country are you from that you don’t know this?
At least you didn’t claim the pledge was being recited like most of the people who spread this rumor. But you still need to brush up on US customs before commenting on them. This is another one that you could have looke up on Snopes before considering a post.

I’m glad you think it was totally wrong. Do you put your hand on your heart? If so, good for you. It’s a custom, it’s not required of him, and besides, it’s a lie. You’ve been duped by people writing crap and posting it on the internet.
There are many religions and other organizations that do not stand and face the flag. It’s their right.

I am really thinking that it was wrong. We don’t need a muslim named hussein,)or anything else), as president of this country.

The Pledge: Hand over heart
The Anthem: Take off your damn hat. THAT’S IT.
It is not custom during the Anthem.
by the way I’m Republican…..

He admitted that not doing so was a mistake–and hasn’t done it since.
At least he owned up to his error—whereas MOST other politicians don’t.
FYI it’s not required to put your hand over your heart when the Star Spangled Banner is played—but since others were doing it—he looked a bit "out of place".

First of all you are incorrect in saying that. Obama said that he sings the Star Spangled Banner when he hears it and he puts his hand over his heart for the pledge. Not everybody puts their hand over their hart for the national anthem. I think more people do that for the pledge.

I think that you are an individual with a very poor intellect.
It’s sad really that people like you live in this country and have the right to do anything at all.
Stupid should come with some penalty.

That did not happen.
It was taken out of context
The right went with what appeared to be, for only a moment, that he snubbed the pledge.
He did not do that.
The video is not complete that showed that
If it was complete, you would never ask this question.
This has been questioned to death here on ya and all over the net, with the same results.
Why do you still believe it? Or more importantly, why do you post it, knowing that it is a lie?
Because of the Nazi adage, to tell a lie long enough, the people will eventually believe it?
Is that it?
Damn, what a frigging Nazi you have become

He was wrong and here is the straight scoop on how to conduct ones self during the National Anthem.
TITLE 36–PATRIOTIC AND NATIONAL OBSERVANCES, CEREMONIES, AND ORGANIZATIONS
SUBTITLE I–PATRIOTIC AND NATIONAL OBSERVANCES AND CEREMONIES
PART A–OBSERVANCES AND CEREMONIES
CHAPTER 3–NATIONAL ANTHEM, MOTTO, FLORAL EMBLEM, AND MARCH
Section 301–National Anthem
Sec. 301. National anthem
(a) Designation.–The composition consisting of the words and music
known as the Star-Spangled Banner is the national anthem.
(b) Conduct During Playing.–During a rendition of the national
anthem–
(1) when the flag is displayed–
(A) all present except those in uniform should stand at
attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart;
(B) men not in uniform should remove their headdress with
their right hand and hold the headdress at the left shoulder,
the hand being over the heart; and
(C) individuals in uniform should give the military salute
at the first note of the anthem and maintain that position until
the last note; and
(2) when the flag is not displayed, all present should face
toward the music and act in the same manner they would if the flag
were displayed.
There it is. The elusive National Anthem protocol. Now when you attend that next concert, ball game, or school event, you will know the proper conduct when they begin playing the Star Spangled Banner.

Yes it was wrong. it seems people want a man to be our president that is loyal only to Africa.
