Buy 97' civic DX coupe or 96' accord EX sedan?
Well, I’m starting college in two months, and I need a car. These are my options. Which one do you think i should go with? (the civic looks much nicer to me…)
1997 Honda Civic DX – ,495 – 105,669 Miles

1996 Honda Accord EX Sedan – ,200 – 112,000 miles

i think this depends on a few things,
are you going to use the car for just you or to carry passengers?
are you going to commute alot?
out of the two, the accord is nicer, bigger and gets slightly less mpg than the civic, overall the accord is way nicer especially since your comparing the EX trim (top of the line) to the DX trim (base). I personally own a Civic Dx and its great no power features its very basic but its all i need.
*also side note that is not a 1996 Honda Accord, despite all its advertising, its a 1994-1995 taillights is what makes it easy to tell:

CIVIC!!!:)

You’ll be better off with the Accord. Some of the d-series motor in the Civic DX has been known to have 2 major flaws.
The catalytic converter is built into the exhaust manifold, and is prone to get hot enough to crack the manifold which is dangerous to the exhaust valves. Federal law requires the cat, if you happen to want to replace the exhaust to improve exhaust flow, you can’t just bolt on a header. And while an exhaust system might sound better, the cat will still be the major restriction. The Civic EX uses a conventional exhaust, and does benefit from a header and exhaust.
The DX motor typically runs hot, to the point of overheating. My efforts to solve the problem showed that it was likely a head gasket or water pump (cativation?) issue.
