Anyone Turn Of The Race If a Certain Driver Wins…..?
Is there a driver that you just can not stand to see win? That as they are about to take the Checkered Flag, you have to either change the channel until after the burnout and celebration in Victory Lane, or mute the TV and look away? Then You can turn it back on to listen to the other interviews.
Also how do you feel about:
1. Double file restarts?
2. Three chances at a green white checkered finish?
3. Phantom debris cautions on some races, and wrecked cars on the final laps at other races and no caution?
4. Do you feel like Nascar’s rules can not be depended on being upheld, as compared to other Sports?
You may have answered many of these questions before, but being fairly new in this category I appreciate your input.
p.s. My name is in honor of our sweet and loving Cocker Spaniel. She blessed us for 15 years 5 months and 4 days. She was a sweetheart and a blessing…….thanks….
Thank You very much for your kind words about Muffin Ann. She was a rescue animal from the pound. A Christmas present for our youngest Son. She loved all of us, but She lived for my Husband. Golden with a sprinkling of red, and white markings. She had a beautiful smile, and when you were hurt or sick, she would not leave your side. Thank You sooo much.
****I turn the channel or mute the sound if JJ, or KB win. However last night watching the Nationwide race, I was cheering for Kyle to win over Edwards. Really glad Kyle won. Never thought I would ever say that.
Do not care to see certain drivers take the checkered flag, do a burnout, or yell over and over how great they are.
I do watch the post race interviews. Love racing, grew up in a racing family. It is great to see so many here that are loyal fans.
Not a fan of double file restarts. I understand the need for lapped cars not to start on the inside, so put them in the back and do the single file restarts. To me it would be like a runner taking off and having a huge lead, then another runner behind them stumbles and falls. So they make everyone stop, line up again and start the race over. What was the point in working so hard to get up front?
I would be guilty of not wanting a race to end under caution. But three attempts is ridiculous. How many drivers were about to win, a caution is thrown, they line up again, restart, pull ahead, another caution is thrown, do it all over again, they pull ahead again, and when the third time happens they fall behind. We need a statatision just to keep up with how many drivers would have been winners if not for all the 3xGWF’s. Like Nascar can chose who they want to win. It is like a crooked Ref, or Ump calling a game, and their bad calls changing the outcome.
Phantom debris cautions, it would be easier to believe there was actually something on the track if the cautions did not occur, as if to tighten up the field. Or in other instances when a driver Nascar seems to favor is running second or third.
Nascar’s rules…..well I love what so many said. So good to see that others see their manipulation. Why can’t we see a rule book? They do seem to have the rules penciled in.
THANK YOU more than words can say for being so sweet and kind about our Cocker Spaniel Muffin Ann. Happy to see so many animal lovers. And very sorry for your losses too. Nice to see loving posts.
Bless You All. Thanks Again…..
Enjoy the race today…..Indy

I watch it no matter what, but I actually like it when Jimmie wins.
Love the double file restarts.
Green white checkers is better than a race ending under caution.
I don’t think there are as many phantom cautions as people think. I think they just don’t always show the debris on TV. But that’s not to say Nascar has never thrown one.
I think Nascar does a pretty good job with the rules. Like any other sport, sometimes the referee makes a call the fans don’t agree with, and so does Nascar. I think Nascar needs to make some rules clearer, like what exactly ‘have at it boys’ really means.
I’m so sorry about your dog. I had to have my dog put down in Feb. It breaks your heart.

I mute the TV when Kyle Busch wins actually I mute it anytime he is interviewed. And I like his driving . It is his personality I dislike.
1.Double file restarts are great.
2.I think there should only be one GW checkered flag
3. I see no proof of "phantom cautions", I would rather see NASCAR err on the side of caution.
4. I think Nascar has become much better at applying their rules any sport gets challenged by fans that don’t agree with a specific ruling.
Nice tribute for your pet. That was a fairly long life, you were blessed.

I’ve only ever turned the TV off once before a win, and it came last year at Indy (next week!). Juan handed the race away. He had dominated, and had the best car. But when it became clear he wasn’t going to get back to the front, I let the Mark Martin vs. Jimmie Johnson battle happen at Indy rather than in my living room. I was so disgusted, I’ve never otherwise not watched the post-race coverage unless I was in a hurry to get out the door, and even then, I PVR it.
1. Double file restarts? – Love ‘em. Can’t turn back now!
2. Three chances at a green white checkered finish? Love it, taking a page out of the ARCA Series book is a good thing. The fans didn’t pay to see a race end under caution. Cudos to NASCAR for making a reasonable attempt to eliminate that.
3. Phantom debris cautions on some races, and wrecked cars on the final laps at other races and no caution? Debris is usually out there. Even if they can’t show it. My driver lost a tire because of a washer in last years Bristol race. I would have gladley suffered through a caution to pick up the washer… But no one knew it was out there. As for the last lap crash thing. If they crash anywhere, but nohard contact is made, let them race back. If they wreck hard, throw the caution unless the leaders have the checkered flag in sight.
4. Do you feel like Nascar’s rules can not be depended on being upheld, as compared to other Sports? I feel all sports are subjective, and I feel NASCAR is less subjective than most.

yes, all the time. there’s no point in watching someone celebrate if you have negative feelings for them, unless you really wanna watch the post-race interviews. usually I flip the channel, and possibly go back if someone I liked finished in the top 5-10.
1. I have mixed feelings. they’re a lot more exciting than the old single-file restarts, but I think we’ve all been ticked off at them whenever our favorite driver is leading a race, then finds himself in 3rd solely because he spun tire when the green flag dropped.
2. too many chances, they should only have one. if the caution comes out, they should finish the race like they used to.
3. I agree with Kasey Kahne on this one, there are a lot of phantom cautions for debris caused by NASCAR. basically, they’ll try to find any excuse they can to shake things up a bit towards the end of a race to make it more exciting for the fans.
4. it depends on which rules. as far as tech inspection goes, for the most part I’d say everything is legit(although I’m still curious about the Gibbs cars’ engine braking system). for things like restarts, dirty driving, and faulty cautions, I’d say the rules are only upheld when NASCAR feels like it.

i do not turn off the tv no matter who wins
double file restarts ok
GWC are ok, but i don`t think drivers like`m
caution calls made as nascar see`s fit, i don`t believe it`s to cheat for anyone
i think nascar rules are more subject to flexibility

no i do not turn the race off if a driver i dont like wins.why?…..i like to watch the interviews after the race to hear all the pissed off drivers blame other drivers for issues they had.but yet i like to hear the drivers talk of the good stuff also.
i am a fan of the double file restarts.it puts the lap daown cars where they belong,in the back of the field behind the lead lap cars and we dont have to worry about lap down cars racing the leaders hard enough to wreck them and cause other cautions or take out my fav drivers if they are up in the front.
there seems to be alot of phantom cautions these days.i do not want to see a caution for a piece of tape or a waterbottle on the track but is out of harms way.
sometimes it seems like the nascar rules are bent or changed during the race, maybe not to help a certain driver, but there are alot of times where they are inconsistant.

No, I don’t turn off the race.
Double file restarts, I’m indifferent on.
Not a fan of the "first attempt, fail, do over, second attempt, fail, do over" rule.
Phantom debris cautions bug.
I feel NASCAR’s rules are often inconsistant.
I’m a Cocker mom, too..I am truly sorry for your loss.

If Jimmie Johnson wins it turns down or to another channel.
1. I like them.
2. I like them….though I think 2 would be enough.
3. Phantom debris don’t like them.
4. They seem to be consistent, that I can tell.
Sorry about your loss…they can worm their way into your heart, become a member of the family even.

1) i like them allot they should of done that years ago
2) i feel 3 is more than enough
3) i hate phantom debris like at Chicagoland it was in the grass near the apron on the back stretch and not even close to warrant a caution
note : Logano was saying i hope they don’t toss a caution for this and that was with about 17 laps to go and oncve it happened he said i guess a certain driver just got what he wanted
4) it seems like the rules are penciled in
sorry about your lose it is hard to loose a beloved pet
nope i watch the whole race

Absolutely. I cannot watch a driver I dislike celebrate a win.
1. Don’t like them. I may be one of two people in the world but I don’t like them.
2. I think a 500 lap race should be a 500 lap race, not 502 or 508. It should be 500. Even a race riddled with cautions has hundreds of miles of green flag racing. If the final lap is under caution, so be it.
3. Nascar makes their decisions as when and if to throw cautions based on what gives them the best opportunity at an exciting finish. If there is a crash and two drivers are side by side racing to the checkers, that caution is not likely to wave. Same crash but a driver has a big lead? That yellow is coming out instantly.
4. Nascar has zero credibility when it comes to rules enforcement. How many sports can you not see a rule book? There are too many subjective calls to be made and Nascar doesn’t even attempt to be consistent and they don’t apologize for it.

When Jimmie Johnson wins I can’t stand to hear his crew say "you da man" "this is jimmie’s house you da man"…LOL So yeah I turn it off.
Phantom debris cautions are sometimes irritating. I guess it depends on who is up front when its called.
Rules should be rules and for all not options for some.
Sorry about Muffin Ann.

I don’t usually turn off the race, but I do turn down the volume and allow my attention to go else where. I like the double file restarts. Do not like the 3 chances at the G-W-C finish. I am more tolerant of the so called "phantom" debris cautions because even though we may not be able to see it or we are not shown it (on TV), does not mean it does not exist. NASCAR does a pretty good job upholding their rules and their policies – I just wish that they would stop modifying the rules from one race to another.
Muffin Ann, I am so sorry to learn about the loss of your precious Cocker Spaniel. I lost a pet almost a year ago and I know how painful the loss can be. She had been an important part of your life and she will forever have a place in your heart.

Jimmie Johnson or Kyle Busch. Don’t hate them, they’re just not favorite drivers of mine.
1. I’m neutral on the issue.
2. Hate it if my driver’s in the lead and love it if he’s in second and has a chance to win. XD
3. Can’t stand them.
4. Well I don’t watch other sports enough to know the rules in and out so I really can’t give a valid answer.

Once Jimmie Johnson Pulls away I turn it off. I cant stand him (not cause he wins) Aslo Carl Edwards and Matt Kenseth
Double file restarts?
:Yes I like them
Three chances at a green white checkered finish?
:I like that also
Phantom debris cautions on some races, and wrecked cars on the final laps at other races and no caution?
: Not when Gordon is in the lead. Everyone look back at Martinsville
Do you feel like Nascar’s rules can not be depended on being upheld, as compared to other Sports?
:Same
