How is six flags compared to a cell?

I’m doing this project for my biology class and i’m kinda stuck on the nucleus and the ribosomes. If compared to six flags, the nucleus is like the owner of 6 flags right? If yes then can someone please tell me who the owner is cause i’ve research it so many times but i still don’t know who’s the owner is. And the ribosomes represents the worker right?

Australians: Wouldn't you also be pissed if a certain cow-worshipping ethnic group branded you as savage?

Say for example, there is an ethnic group that loves cows, keeps them as pets, and thinks that killing them is heartless and savage. They therefore start rioting and sticking banners up, protesting against Australians to stop their mass slaughter of cows. Some of them join organizations dedicated to saving the cows, and they invade farms or throw butyric acid at the farmers. They soon gather up to sign an anti-cow slaughter petition alongside an emblem made by the Australian flag with a blood-covered person lying on it. They start branding Australians as heartless and savage for killing ‘such beautiful creatures’ and can’t believe that the Australians eat them.

This is exactly how the Japanese see you guys protesting against our whaling practices.

Wouldn’t you be pissed if you were in that situation?

College essay help please!?

Communities define our lives. Those you are born into, those you make yourself, and those you fall into by accident—communities of all types influence us and help shape us. Describe a defining community in your life and what it means to you.

The image of countless young families waving their mothers, fathers, or spouses goodbye as they stayed behind, hands interlaced with fences by the runway is seared in my memory. I was seven then. Every kid was given a little American flag. And though it was disguised as a happy event with red-white-and-blue banners and symbols of patriotism dispersed throughout the hanger, we all felt sick to our stomachs as we tried so hard to deny the fact that this could inevitably be the last time we’d ever hug our father tight and hear his voice as he said goodbye.
Upon first news of his deployment to the conflict in Kosovo, my father, like the countless men and women of our armed services, answered the call, not once hesitating to do what his country asked of him. I have yet to see such loyalty, such selfless service so clearly displayed. Living in the military community has instilled in me the strong morals that have led me to where I am today. When many people my age disobey laws and cheat on tests, I have the integrity to do what I know is right because the military life has shown me it’s possible to hold oneself to a higher standard.
You could say I’ve lived the quintessential “army brat” life, finding myself with new faces in new places every three years. I’ve had to leave close friends behind and I’ve had to endure stressful and emotional times, but I don’t look back on these events with contempt. Without these struggles, I wouldn’t be where I am today applying to one of the most prestigious schools in the country because I wouldn’t have been close to the required standards.
Only now, at 18 years old can I see how great an opportunity I’ve had, living a life overseas, immersed in a culture other than my own. In Italy, though I longed for my friends and home in the United States, I learned to love where I was. I learned to adapt to my community, immersing myself in Italian culture and playing soccer in the streets with Italian friends. When the history teacher points out the coliseum of Ancient Rome in history books, I see it come to life as the day I stood four foot small as the walls of the ancient arena encompassed me. When the history teacher points out Michelangelo’s mural in history books, I see it as the day I stood in that very chapel and saw the image of God creating Adam painted in the sky.
The military life has given me the opportunity to immerse myself in European culture and to see the world first hand. It has instilled in me the need for personal perfection. As the son of a U.S. Army officer I’ve had the opportunity to live in a variety of different communities and they have truly shaped me into the hardworking, morally, physically, and mentally strong person I am today.

Is the Pledge of Allegiance seditious or even treasonous?

All those who don’t read the below or uncontrollably wish to spit Civil War sound bytes need not answer.

"I pledge allegiance
To the Flag
Of the United States of America
And to the Republic
For which it Stands
One Nation
Indivisible
With Liberty and Justice for All"

This is probably one of the least scrutinized forms of "patriotism" we have today in our 50 United States. How many of you know anything about your Pledge or what "for which it stands"?

"Under God" is omitted here because it was not introduced until 1954 and thus cannot be a part of the "original" pledge (from 1892, by Francis Bellamy, a Christian Socialist who wanted the government to rule the economy using the strategies laid out by the Military Industrial Complex), even if people still run around upholding that by saying "preserve the original pledge."

SO LETS LOOK AT IT.

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America"

That means you pledge your life, your liberty, and your property to…a political union? "The United States of America", absent fascist or statist propaganda, is a political union. The greatness of a country is not found in flamboyant banners or patriotic jingles, it is found in the greatness of each individual citizen, each town and each city thriving in freedom. Swearing allegiance to central political unions allows for the growth of Empires and the death of the sovereign individuals and families that made the country great in the first place. By swearing allegiance to a central power, be it a King or a Congress, you betray your home and your roots, no?

"And to the Republic, for which it stands"

We do not stand for government, government stands for US. We do not serve government, government serves US. I do not find it ironic that an avowed Socialist thought inverting the roles of the ruling people and the servant government was a good idea. Socialism and Communism require as a rule servant people and ruling government.

"One Nation, Indivisible"

This is treason. We are 50 States. Fifty independent states that joined the Union voluntarily. As much as it is the right of a State to elect to join the Union, it is a right of the State to elect to leave the Union and only a fascist or dictator would say otherwise. In the Constitution neither is the power for the Federal Government granted to fight secession nor is the right of a State to secede barred. Therefore, a State may come or go as it pleases. "Indivisible" pretends otherwise and suggests we are a forced Union, unable to leave if that Union threatens liberty. There is no liberty in forced Union.

Again, we are 50 states, 50 little countries just as independent and diverse as, in theory, the many nations of Europe or those of Africa.

Anyone who disagrees with the right of a State to secede should re-read the Declaration of Independence: "That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness." –Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776

"With Liberty and Justice for All"

There is nothing I know of that is wrong with this statement. This was a founding principle of the Declaration of Independence: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

Let it further be noted that the only other country I know that has a "pledge" is the UK, and that is "God Save the King." I’ll let you imagine what that one teaches kids about the sovereignty of the people.

SO, is this seemingly innocent phrase we used to say every morning in fact undermining our very liberty by giving us the impression we are a Union, not a free country, and we serve the government rather than the government serves us?
@ missin’ the beach – # 1 argue of a fascist, the Declaration was not a law. (1) quote me where I said it was a law, (2) tell us why that matters. What was declared was the fact that government serves the people and if it does not do it’s duty then the people may change or remove it. That is a natural right and natural right void any laws that are made to interfere with them. A government may ban free speech but a human still has the right to free speech. I’m afraid you didn’t look hard enough into this.

You don’t understand the Civil War if you make a comment like that. If the desire of human beings to be free and sovereign ended, absolutely, all around the world, when Richmond fell in 1865 you would be correct. As I still fly my flag today I am testimony to that being false, and I know I am not alone.

Hi . I need to know the meaning of the poem cassabianca which is also known as boy stood on the burning deck.?

Having troubles with these word problems?

HI everyone, I’ve been working through sets of word problems for a unit and I’m having difficulties with these three since I don’t know what to do with equations. Can someone help me out and walk me through them in laymans terms? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Question 1:
The time T in seconds for a pndulum of length L feet to make one swing is given by T = 2π√L/30. How long is a pendulum (to nearest hundredth) if it makes one swing in 2 seconds? Use 3.14 for π.

Question 2:
On a sunny day, a flag pole and its shadow form the sides of a right triangle. If the hypotenuse is 40m long and the shadow is 32m, how tall is the flag pole?

Question 3:
A car dealer advertised a big sale by stretching a string of banners from the top of the building to the edge of the driveway. If the building is 18m high and the driveway is 41m from the building, how long is the string of banners?

My illegal neighbors keep trying to shoot down my American flag! What should I do?

Ok, not a brief history, I live in southern Minnesota in a town where I was born in and have lived my whole life in. We have always had a large illegal Mexican population in our sanctuary city, but in recent years it has gotten to the point where one in three people are illegal.

My house is in a neighborhood where 25 years ago it was a quiet, neatly kept homes, lawn and street full of elderly white retired folks where you were safe to leave your doors unlocked at night.

Now it is a loud, run-down, dirty, and dangerous neighborhood full of illegals and resembles a Mexican ghetto! With the exception of my house and property which now resembles a clean and neatly kept home, but also a fenced-in fortress!

The fence I put in three years ago after illegal neighbors kept coming onto my property to use my clothesline while I was gone, and damaged my bird-feeders that I hung on, and around the clothesline.

Anyways, a six foot chain-link fence with locked gates now surrounds my property, as well as reinforced doors and windows on my house and garage, 16 video surveillance cameras/recorders outside and around my property and 12 inside the house, a panic room/armoury, and of course a home security/alarm system from Broadview Security. All of which I have invested many thousands of dollars on over the years. No way I would still be living here without all this!

Ok! About my flag!
Every morning I raise my American flag on the 30ft. pole in my front yard, and lower it at dusk.
I have done this everyday since 9-11. With few exceptions, weather, blizzards, sick days, ect.

All the illegals over the years never gave me a problem about it except for some of them staring at me and the occasional dirty look.
The new illegal neighbors that moved in right across the street from me this year are a rowdier group.
They come and go at all hours of the day and night, at least twelve people living in a three bedroom house. Many of them sit on couches on their front lawn, drinking beer and playing loud music from dawn until dusk.
In the morning some are always out front when I go out to raise my flag, as I do they hoot and holler, catcall and whistle. Which I ignored for a long time, but it grew to really annoy me as it seemed disrespectful to a patriotic moment. So starting a couple months ago I carried out my boombox with a CD of our national anthem "The Star Spangled Banner" and played it as I raised the flag in order to drowned out the whooping and catcalls from across the street. This only riled them up even more and drew more attention to me so I stopped. But it did not end there, none of the men ever did anything and still have not, but starting a few weeks ago they sent over a juvenile, maybe 16 or 17 years old across to harass me, knowing he would likely not get in trouble, and not much I can do as he stays on the public sidewalk and never even touches my fence. He does speak good English, either an anchor baby or he was brought here at a young age. I can’t say much good about this kid, as he was raised to be a fierce racist, I cannot even begin to list the racial slurs he has said to me!
After all the "You don’t belong here man!’ and "Go back to Europe" crap, I told the kid to knock it off from now on or I would call the cops on him.
And the very next day holes are shot through my flag from a pellet gun. Nothing on my security videos of course, it was shot at from off my property. A few days later I heard more pellet shots and called the police, my flag was undamaged this time and the cops just drove around and left! Lots of help they are!

The final straw! The same little jerk shot my flag again last Sunday with a paintball gun and totally ruined it! Again I called the police and nothing was done an no one had seen it happen!

I literally fee
I literally feel like I am at war with foreign invaders trying to take down my flag and drive me out of my own neighborhood!

So, any good suggestions? And don’t be an @sshole and tell me to stop raising my flag or move!

Yes, I do hear the occasional gunshot in nearby houses. I use to call the cops all the time but I finally stopped because nothing was EVER done!
I’d call, then listen to the scanner, the cops would always drive around, not see anything and leave!

Here is one for you!
A couple of weeks ago just down the block early in the morning two illegals stabbed another illegal a whole bunch of times and ran through peoples properties trying to hide from the cops, scaring a lot of them in the process!
I have the only fenced-in property on my half of the block so they could not hide here at least! The cops caught them hiding a block away under an old ladies wood patio deck!
